WARWICK, NY: COLLAGE MASTER CLASS / This master class in Jonathan's studio is specifically designed for and limited to folks who have studied with Jonathan before and would like to take their work to the next level. While technique will be reviewed, the focus will be on composition, narrative, style development, working in series, career building, etc. Each person wishing to participate in this event should prepare a short written statement describing why they wish to attend, what they intend to accomplish, and, if appropriate, what they will contribute to the group. Include your phone number and other contact information with the statement and e-mail it to jonathan@talbot1.com. Jonathan will respond by e-mail and/or phone and further discussion will determine whether or not this master class is appropriate for you. Hours will be unlimited and access to all tools and almost all materials in the studio is included. Also included are a continental breakfast, full lunch, and refreshments each day. Jonathan will speak after a screening of "Portrait," a short film by Spanish director José Carrasco in which Jonathan's artwork is featured. During this interactive lecture-demonstration and powerpoint presentation Jonathan will involve the audience in exploring appropriation in the fine arts and demonstrate some of the innovative collage techniques he has developed. He will also be available to answer questions following the presentation.
